Nosterfield Nature Reserve

Nosterfield Nature Reserve has 150 acres of wet grassland, open water and underlying magnesium limestone, it is also North Yorkshire’s premier wetland grassland. Located less than a mile from the Freemasons Arms, there is plenty to see at the reserve such as watching wildlife up close in the purpose-built hides.

The Lower Ure Conservation Trust

The Lower Ure Conservation Trust was established in 1997 to help conserve the biodiversity of species and their habitats. The trust is based at and runs Nosterfield Nature Reserve (more details below) and in recent years has become the first site in North Yorkshire where avocets have bred and provides optimum breeding habitats for the lapwing.
